Dr Ashley Gibson

Dr Ashley Gibson is a British trained Senior Clinical Psychologist with over 10 years of expertise across the UK
and UAE. She holds a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the University of Glasgow, along with a Master’s
in Applied Psychology for Children and Young People from Edinburgh University, and a Bachelor’s in
Psychology from the University of the West of Scotland.

Dr Ashley is a licensed practitioner in both the UK and Dubai, recognised by the Health and Care Professions
Council (HCPC) in the UK, the Department of Health Dubai and the Health Authority of Abu Dhabi. She has extensive experience providing expert care to children, adolescents, adults, and families facing a wide range of social, emotional and mental health challenges.

Throughout her career, Dr Ashley has held key roles in various specialist settings. Before joining Reverse
Psychology, she served as the Lead Psychologist for the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service
(CAMHS) within a psychiatric hospital in Dubai. In the UK, she worked in both adult and child services,
including specialised roles in Paediatric Psychology and Neuropsychology, where she supported children with
chronic physical health conditions and neurological disorders.

Dr Ashley has a strong clinical background in working with neurodevelopmental disorders such as Autism
Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). She is highly skilled in
conducting comprehensive neurodevelopmental and psychoeducational assessments, providing helpful
insights that inform tailored interventions and support strategies for individuals.

Her therapeutic approach integrates evidence-based techniques, such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Systemic Therapy, and Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT). She tailors treatment plans to the unique needs of each client, empowering them to co-develop personalised treatment plans that align with their goals. Dr Ashley is committed to helping individuals of all ages harness their strengths, build resilience, and overcome mental health challenges to lead meaningful lives in line with their values.

In addition to supporting clients, Dr Ashley is an active contributor to the broader mental health community.
She has delivered talks and presentations at UAE conferences, including those focused on mental health and
managing challenging behaviours. Dr Ashley also provides consultation and training to school counsellors and
other mental health professionals, equipping them with the skills and knowledge to better support children,
adolescents and families.
