About Lidia Barbacil Lopez
Lidia Lopez is a dedicated clinical psychologist with over a decade of experience, having honed her skills through extensive work in German psychiatric hospitals and Dubai clinics. She completed her psychology studies in Spain and received a scholarship to pursue her master's in clinical psychology in Germany, graduating in 2014.
Lidia’s early career focused on specialising in post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), where she worked with refugees of all ages from around the world in Germany with an NGO. This invaluable experience ignited her passion for helping individuals overcome trauma. Transitioning to working with children, adolescents, and families, Lidia broadened her expertise in various psychiatric settings.
During her tenure in Germany, Lidia worked in different psychiatric hospitals, spending the last years before moving to the UAE in a children’s hospital. Here, she treated children, adolescents, and families in both the emergency room and psychotherapy ward, addressing a wide range of conditions including ADHD, eating disorders, PTSD, autism, mood and personality disorders, self-harm, and anxiety.
Lidia specialises in evidence-based therapeutic techniques such as Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), resilience-building programmes, and Schema Therapy. She has a special interest in working with eating disorders, PTSD, and emotional, mood, and personality disorders. Additionally, Lidia’s passion for helping children thrive drives her to provide them with the tools they need to succeed in every phase of their lives.
Complementing her extensive professional experience, Lidia volunteered at an eating disorder clinic in Spain, where she gained profound insights into treating eating disorders, further deepening her commitment to this field. Lidia is dedicated to creating a supportive and nurturing environment for her clients, empowering them to achieve their full potential and lead fulfilling lives.
